The Shelby Society celebrated its 10th anniversary 7 June 2025 with a meeting for the general membership, hosted by Governor and Mrs. Andy Beshear at the Governor’s Mansion in Frankfort. It was a beautiful evening in the stunning space, containing artifacts and memorabilia from past administrations. (See pictures in the Gallery) There was something for everyone to discover and admire. Ann Evans and Crit Luallen each spoke about their times in the mansion with humor and affection. (Ann as Executive Director and Crit as Lt. Governor). As with each general membership meeting, a charitable donation was made to a deserving Kentucky organization. This year’s recipient was Holly Rood House in Winchester. Past recipients include Wickliffe Historic Home in Bardstown, the Kentucky Historical Society, the Honorable Order of Kentucky Colonels, the Kentucky Humanities Council, KET and the Governors Scholars program. The Board of Magistrates of The Shelby Society are delighted to support organizations that enhance the Commonwealth and its citizens.
